Ability Online and KSANews.ca Share Important Internet Safety Message
Ability Online and Krystian Shaw, founder of KSANews.ca and The Kamloops Self Advocate Newsletter, were recently interviewed about internet safety and the importance of having safe, trusted online spaces for kids, teens, young adults, and people with diverse abilities.
Ability Online is a safe social network where members can connect, make friends, and join fun activities while being protected from cyberbullying, predators, and online harm. During the interview, Krystian talked about how KSANews.ca works as a free resource hub, sharing helpful information about disability awareness, inclusion, mental health, healthy living, and community supports.
KSANews.ca does not provide direct services. Instead, it connects people to information, education, and positive stories that help individuals, families, and professionals learn and grow. The website is completely free to access, just like The Kamloops Self Advocate Newsletter.
The newsletter is mostly text-based with clipart, making it simple, accessible, and easy to read. It focuses on disability awareness, success stories, kindness, inclusion, and healthy living. Best of all, the newsletter is 100% free for readers, and anyone can subscribe.

To help keep the newsletter and website free, KSANews.ca offers paid advertising and sponsorship opportunities. We welcome sponsors, non-profits, gyms, health services, and community organizations that believe in community health and inclusion. Businesses can take part in our Ability-Friendly Accessible Business Program or become advertisers or sponsors. While sponsorships and advertising do have a cost, they directly support free disability media and accessible information for the community.
We especially encourage ability-friendly and accessible businesses to get involved and show their commitment to inclusion, respect, and community well-being.
KSANews.ca also shares music videos and content about healthy eating. Eating healthy is important for everyone—whether you have diabetes or not. Healthy food helps our bodies and minds. Junk food is called “junk” because it does not give our bodies the nutrients we need. It’s okay to enjoy it sometimes, just not all the time.
By promoting internet safety, healthy living, and inclusion, Ability Online and KSANews.ca work together to make online and community spaces safer, kinder, and healthier for everyone.
