Digital Wellbeing and mental health

Today, we live in a world full of technology. Phones, computers, and social media are everywhere. They can be fun and helpful, but sometimes they can affect our minds and feelings. Digital well-being is about using technology in a healthy way. Digital mental health is about taking care of our minds while using technology. It is important to learn how to balance screen time with other activities that make us feel good and stay healthy.

Some people can spend too much time online. They may check social media all the time, play games for hours, or feel upset when they are not online. This can become an addiction. Addiction is when something is hard to stop, even if it is hurting you. People can also have addictions to drugs. Both types of addiction can make someone feel sad, anxious, or stressed. Addiction can make it hard to sleep, eat well, or enjoy life.

When someone struggles with addiction, they need support, not judgment. We should not blame or shame them. Instead, we can help people find better ways to cope with stress and problems. Helping someone with mental health challenges or addiction can make a big difference in their life. For example, learning to do yoga, meditation, or deep breathing can help calm the mind. Creative activities, like drawing, writing, or music, can help people express their feelings in a safe way. Spending time outside, exercising, or talking with a trusted friend or adult can also help.

People who are homeless or struggling with mental health often face extra challenges. They might not have easy access to help or safe places to stay. Supporting these people is very important. We can help them by listening, encouraging them to use healthy coping tools, and connecting them with community resources. Showing kindness and understanding can make someone feel less alone and more hopeful.

Digital well-being and mental health are about balance, care, and support. Technology is a big part of our lives, but it should not control us. We can use it in ways that help our minds and bodies stay healthy. When people struggle with addiction—whether to the internet, social media, or drugs—they need help to learn safer ways to cope. With support, understanding, and healthy tools like yoga, meditation, and creative activities, everyone can work toward a happier, healthier life.
