Spring into Fun with the KSA
Spring has arrived in Kamloops, bringing warmer days, blooming flowers, and a fresh sense of possibility. At the Kamloops Self Advocate
Newsletter, this season is all about growth, connection, and celebrating the voices that make our community strong. As we welcome spring—and
look ahead to Easter on April 5th—we’re excited to share stories, reflections, and ideas that bring people together.
This issue also highlights something important: representation and inclusion. Inspired by a recent article from Pathfinders Alliance, we
reflect on how stories—whether in film or in our own community shape how people see and understand disability. Progress is happening, like the
casting of Marissa Bode in Wicked, showing the importance of authentic voices and lived experience. But it also reminds us there is still work to
do to ensure people with disabilities are represented with respect, accuracy, and dignity.
That’s what our newsletter is all about. Every article you read is created by contributors sharing their real experiences, talents, and perspectives.
Your support helps us provide honorariums, print copies for those without internet access, and continue building an inclusive platform where
every voice matters..
