When we treat everyone with respect kindness and love, remember to treat individuals with autism kindly as we focus on World Autism Day and autism awareness. This month we are also discussing ableism and the discrimination behind it.
It is important to understand the concept of Social Justice and how it affects those with autism and others with diverse abilities. Imagine if there was no wheelchair lift on the bus and you had a wheelchair; this gives people the same freedoms and opportunities as everyone else.
